CHILD LABOUR: A ESSENTIAL CAUSE & A CONSEQUENCE OF POVERTY

"Child Labour" is the work that bereaves children from their childhood, their talents, and their self-esteem, and that is harmful to their mental, physical, and emotional growth. Child Labour is the work that is mentally, physically, socially, or morally menacing and detrimental to children.

Some of the root causes of Child Labour are as follows:-

• Natural disasters & climate change
• Poverty
• Conflicts & mass migration
• Lack of access to quality education
• Limited understanding of child labour
• Poor access to decent work

Requisitely, children could be paid less, working children are not able to attend a school which essentially creates a cycle of poverty that is difficult to eradicate.

Child labor is a serious socio-economic problem around the world, particularly in developing countries. Poor parents are forced to send their children to work to increase family income. Of course, schooling and education are withheld from the child, education, and growing up an unskilled adult worker.

Poverty is seen as the main cause of child labor and deprives children of education and the acquisition of human skills. Poor children grow up as unskilled workers and earn low wages in adulthood.

Child labour continues to remain in poverty for the rest of his life and he becomes child labour because he was poor.
